Back on Track

It’s only August 15 and I am counting the days until this month ends. It has been a doozy!

August 3 we got an email from my son’s school saying that they didn’t think our family was a good fit for the school. Three weeks before school was to start and five months after depositing our FULL tuition payment.

August 8 I was bit by a dog leaving two deep punctures in my left tricep. Urgent care visit where antibiotics and a tetanus shot were prescribed, I’m healing.

While our house project was derailed by the stop work notice, and my life was derailed by school and Cujo, we’re now back on track!

Contractors are busy and they are not concerned with the ups and downs of homeowners’ personal lives. While we are making progress, it has slowed considerably.

Last week kitchen cabinets were being installed while drywall crew were taping and mudding the newly installed drywall. They were working on top of each other and after 2 days, they both stopped working. Apparently the one trade was assuming the other trade would continue but due to NO COMMUNICATION, neither trade showed up. Tomorrow (Monday), cabinet crew and drywall crew will resume - working on top of each other - again. Sigh….

Hopefully next week I have more interesting photos to share. Cabinet pulls are on order, stone counter has been selected as has backsplash! Now we just need August to cooperate and not throw me any more curve balls!
